Zombie Adventures &The Demise of Bill Murray

What is it about zombies that's so appealing? Being a zombie is like a great equalizer. No matter your station in life, you're dead like everyone else. Your skin is bad and you're not that attractive. Your needs are simple--human flesh and maybe some brains. No one cares if you're simple-minded. A lovable, bloody, dopey mess.

So Zombieland is the newest in a long line of zombie movies. It's not the best zombie movie I've seen. The plot is sort of meandering with no clear objective. Woody Harrelson does a good job as Tallahassee, a man who likes Twinkies, beating the hell out of inanimate objects, and killing zombies with bats, garden shears, guns, a banjo, and whatever else is handy. But the rest of the cast is just meh, and, while the female characters are kick-ass to start, by the end of the movie they are reduced to helpless and cliche damsels in distress. There is a funny and clever bit with Bill Murray, but nothing else in the movie is worth writing home about. But if your tastes are simple and you enjoy watching zombies chase people and get killed, then this is a film for you.
